Sirikit Moreau's Capital Gifts

March 17, 2008 - Urbane and financially astute, Sirikit Moreau is joining the Agency to provide administrative assistance to the Directors, Corporate Affairs and Program Management. She developed her expertise in accounting over 15 years as a co-op banker in Germany. In Canada, Sirikit again worked for financial institutions, including a credit union, and as an administrator, developing new skills in human resources. She was drawn to the Agency by her affinity to our values. And with all this, Sirikit speaks French. Sounds like a keeper!

Work in progress

May 3, 2005 – The Agency got the go-ahead in a letter from Karen Kinsley, President of CMHC dated May 7, 2004.

The Agency was incorporated as a co-operative on July 28, 2004. Its board of directors is meeting regularly to guide the implementation of the Agency and adopt policies to govern its continuing operations.

On May 3, 2005, the Agency signed an agreement with the federal government through Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC) that will see the progressive transfer of program management responsibility to the Agency, beginning in early 2006.

Work is proceeding on:

  • development of plain-language guidelines for the administration of CMHC’s co-op programs
  • a risk-rating model to identify co-ops facing problems so they can receive advice and help before they get into serious difficulty
  • a new annual information return, to be filed by co-ops with their audited financial statement
  • development of agency policies
  • development of a web-based Agency Information System.

The Agency phasing plan shows the stages of Agency implementation.
